Supervision of bachelor and master theses

If you are planning to write a thesis in the field of Eastern European history, please come to my office hours (at least six months before the planned deadline). Please send me a rough concept in advance as a PDF file containing the following elements:

• A precise research question that is neither too general nor too detailed.
• A draft outline with clear chapter and subchapter headings that clearly indicate your sub-questions.
• A basic bibliography showing that you have already carried out research and familiarized yourself with the relevant specialist literature.

The subject of your thesis must also be presented and discussed as part of the supervision during the regular research colloquium.

Oral exams

To register for oral examinations (BA/MA), please use the corresponding registration form and submit it to the secretary’s office. It is essential that you also state the module in which you wish to be examined. No examination can take place without complete documentation.
